Does AMD have a Windows 7 chipset or video driver for this laptop? There are no driver for this product under Windows So Dell’s spec is wrongly dell inspiron 1501 chipset that it does not inspron 4 GB. For those of you who insist it won’t work because of Dell’s posted specs I do however wish to upgrade my memory.

I saw that note from Dell but I thought it meant that Dell did not list any Windows 7 drivers for that machine. For those who keep saying Windows won’t see 4 GB, please understand the memory address limitation. Please type your message and try again. Even if you put 4GB into dell inspiron 1501 chipset computer it will not recognize all of its memory.

I suspect there may be something chipzet on the motherboard, but since the laptop is over 3 years old, I advised the customer of the problem which might occur every once in a while. Go to original post.
Does dell inspiron 1501 chipset know if the motherboard will recognize that much memory? It could sell into safe mode, but in normal mode it would sit at the Welcome screen twirling its circle.
I’d like to move up to at least 4 gigs.

I have just installed a 2G stick on a Dell running XP bit service pack 3. I did find that A xpress driver also worked with win 7.

I was hoping that it could tell me which driver I would need for W7. I know with 2 x 2G I wont get exactly 4G, but with 2.
